All Classes:
Happy Friday!
  • Vocab lesson 7 due Tues., 11/8; lesson 8 due Tues., 11/15
  • Vocab Test lessons 7&8 Thurs., 11/17
  • Read 100 Minutes per Week; Reading Logs/Responses Due Fri., 11/4
  • Bring in Mac & Cheese for food drive!!
  • English exams Nov. 2
6th Grade:
  • Narrative- Realistic Fiction Story- Final draft due Mon., 10/31 (remember, continue to bring in your flash drive!)
    • Staple in the following order: cover page (with picture), final draft (no heading, fully revised and edited), rubric (yellow), rough draft (highlighted copy), peer edit packet, graphic organizers (from original packet- storyboard and planning your story)
  • Continue studying vocab for English exam 
    • lessons 1-6; break into smaller chunks and start early!
    • story elements (plot, conflict, point of view, characterization)- review study guide
    • how to format an open-ended response- review study guide
  • Reader's Workshop week 1 reading assignment due Thurs., 11/3 (check you independent book study packet for your self-assigned reading)
7th Grade:
  • Book Talk: presentations due Mon., 11/14
  • Start studying vocab for English exam:
    • Vocab lessons 1-6
    • literary elements: plot, conflict, character, etc.
8th Grade:
  • Book Talk: presentations due Mon., 11/14
  • Start reviewing all prior Poe stories for quarter 1 exam (use notes, class activities, homework assignments, and Red Reader as a resource); Review biographical notes as well.  You should be able to identify the key plot elements and conflict from the stories as well as the main characters and symbols or motifs associated with each story and poem.
